Change of Plans

Ever been in a situation where your plans took a drastic toll? I have, last week my tennis team had a tennis game, but due to the weather conditions we had to have a change of plans and cancel the game due to the rain. The team was so excited to play because just before a game we get an adrenaline rush to play and do good. So when we found out that the other game had canceled the game due to weather conditions we were all disappointed. This is one main reason we were dissappointed another was because we believed that the game will be post pone but to our surprise it wasnt. An opportunity to play a game and might have received a chance to win the game was taken away from us. This is only one example of many others expierences when someone has to go through an expierence where there has to be a change of plans.

An Ideal Vacation

My ideal vacation would be a vacation would i could be able to visit all the European countries of my choice. I would want to visit France, Spain, Italy, Germany and many more. I would like to at least spend 2 to 3 weeks in each of these countries so I could get to see all the beautiful sights and try all the delicious foods. I would aslo like to see all of the historical monuments and landmarks and get to know a little bit of their history. I would want to be able to take pictures of mostly everything that I see so when it is time to come back I could show everyone everything that i saw and did in Europe. They could have a chance to see my pictures and decide if whether or not they would like to visit Europe one day. On my trip I would like to be able to expierence everything there is to expierence in these European countries.

Obesity

Whenever someone sees a person that is overweight more than usual they begin to have thoughts that are not very nice. They begin to tease them and embarrass them in public places. People that are obese usually have both personal and societal problems. They tend to not like their body and most of time hate it. They want to eat food to replace an issue they might have because they feel food comforts them, and they usual lack self esteem. Obesity raises the risk of heart attacks and other health issues. The society we live in has a major contribution to the amount of people that are becoming obese. To me this seems unfair becomes society plays a major role in obesity but it also contributes to how obese people are treated in our society. there should be more boundaries on the critism people are allowed to give on other people.

Unlikely Allies

The only circumstance in which two people of different bacgrounds could become unlikely allies is when they need something from each other and when someone uses someone else for a benefit. For example when two rivals from a school do not like each other and say an event is coming up in school and they need to work together in a project, they need to leave their differences aside so the school event can be a successful one. hese two students were rivals because they come from a different bcakground and their cultures are different so they have assumptions from each others culture that they dilike and this was the main reason why they disliked each other. But after having to collaborate with each other in this project they decided that besides their different culture backgrounds they really didnt have reasons to silike each other. This might be the only circumstance in which people from different backgrounds can become allies.

Outdoor Living..

Outdoor living is very differently from living in an apartment in the city. At night you will be surrounded from different types of sounds from birds to outdoor animals and the wnd blowing against the trees. The types of noises you will hear in the outdoor living are different from sounds in the city. City sounds involve the honking of cars, the noise of the busy traffic, and the diferent screams from all types of people. The smells from the city and outdoor also differ. In the outdoor all that surrounds you is the smell of the flowers, trees, and nature. In the city the aromas are the odor of gasoline, and the smog of factories. If a person has lived most of their life in the city they should really consider to try living in the outdoors for just a few days so you can personally expierence the differences that the coutdoor life has to offer. After expierencing the outdoor life maybe then you would take into consideration of visiting the outdoor life more often, or maybe even plan to move out of the city and into the outdoor living.

Semester Essay #2

Bullying has been a major issue throughout schools; it has especially affected elementary
and secondary schools. The country has begun to actively address the problem. Bullying should
not be a topic taken lightly, most people do not see the effects that bullying can cause. Bullying
can be either verbally, physically, intimidation, and cyber bullying, all having a major and
negative impact on the victim. Often the victims are scarred and traumatized and live in fear for
many years while the culprits proceed to bully other victims. Bullies often target those students
whom appear insecure, are categorized as “nerds” and do not have a big crowd of friends
surrounding them.
Generally students who become bullies often do it for the satisfaction of feeling they have
power or control over a person. It appears that the suffering and inflicting injury on others
derives them satisfaction. Studies have indicated that often bullies come from homes where
physical punishment is used. When witnessing this in your household children begin to think that
physical abuse is a form of solving your problem.
Victims of bullying are usually insecure, have low self esteem, and rarely defend
themselves when confronted by a bully. They also lack social skills, in most occasions don’t
have many friends, and are often isolated from other students. The major physical characteristic
of a victim is they tend to be weaker than the other students.
Bullying should be an issue that should be addressed by both schools and the parents.
Often in some cases schools neglect the effects of bullying and believe that it is just a phase of
growing up. They do not realize all of the effects bullying causes to the victim, in some cases the
victim is filled with fear and insecurity that they go as far as committing suicide because they do
not know how to handle the situation. Other times bullying also originates from the household,
children see their parents or a family member solve a problem through abuse either verbally or
physically and then have a mentality that the only solution to a problem is through abuse. This is
why bullying should be addressed by both schools and parents. Schools should implement more
consequences and not neglect the issue of bullying. Schools should provide help to those
students who have been a victim or a culprit. By doing this the issue of bullying would not be as
common on school grounds. The other half of the responsibility should be on parents. Parents
should be more careful on how they resolve conflicts and build an honesty relationship with their
child, so the child would be comfortable telling the parents any issues they are having. Also
parents should talk to their child about bullying and the consequences of it and explain to them
that bullying is not a form of entertainment or a way of gaining power over anyone.

Semester Essay #1

The principal has cancelled all extracurricular activities because students do not
cooperate with the school’s litter problem on the campus. I agree with the principle’s decision
because in order for students to follow directions one of their privileges have to be taken away in
order to do what they are suppose when they are told too. If students see that they can no longer
have extracurricular activities in school they will immediately begin to fix the litter problem at
school because they will want to do whatever it takes to once again have extracurricular
activities at their school. If the activities were never taken away the litter problem would
probably increase and become worse. The problem would worsen because students would see
that even though they are being told to fix the litter problem their administrators are not being
strict enough about the problem, so students would ignore it and would not care about the litter
problem.
When the principle notices that the students have been doing what they are suppose to do
and have kept the campus clean instead of being filled with litter. Maybe then the principle
would lift the punishment and allow that the school has their extracurricular activities again. In
order for this to happen the principle has to have the students undergo trial days, where they are
put to the test to see if the campus is being maintained clean. If the majority of the school is
doing what they are suppose to then the punishment would be lifted, but if certain students do not
seem to follow the rules their names should be written down and given an additional punishment.
I think most people would agree with me that the principle made the appropriate decision.
If students are not put boundaries or regulations when they are told to do something students will
never take anything seriously. When a student especially a teen gets taken away their
privileges it is the end of the world for them. They then see that the situation is serious and have
to do what is being told to do. I think by the principle taking away extracurricular activities it
really caught the students attention and next time they will know to listen to what is being told
to them. Within a few days the campus would be litter free because students would want their
activities back, but they not only have to keep it clean for the trial days but for the rest of the
year. Student will now know that obey the school rules and listen to the principle.
